"So many times the most beautiful things to be seen are right before our eyes. However, these potential masterpieces, these places and things in ordinary life, often go overlooked. Whether it be the beauty of nature seen in a cypress swamp in the autumn, the strength of horses galloping through the desert, or mans best friend and his buddy fishing together. Such grace and beauty in all forms deserves recognition. Capturing these moments in time is a challenge for any artist. As an artist, I enjoy the thrill of portraying these moments on canvas. As you survey the gallery, I hope you will find, as I have, that beauty takes many forms and is undeniable even in the most ordinary of subjects." Ron

BIOGRAPHY

Ron was born and raised in Delaware attending Wilmington public schools. At an early age he developed a curiosity and interest in art. After completing his formal education, he graduated from the Famous Artists School of Commercial Art and Illustration, Westport, Connecticut in 1960. However, he put down the "brush" and pursued a career in banking. He and his wife, Ruthann were married in 1967 and raised their two daughters in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Ron worked in the metropolitan Philadelphia area; a career in the banking industry that spanned thirty-seven years. Tiring of the increasing demands and pressure of the "corporate world" Ron took early retirement and he and Ruthann relocated to Long Neck, Delaware in November of 2000. Soon after, he picked up the "brush" once again, returning to his childhood love for art. After receiving a positive critique of some of his early work from an area artist and encouragement from Ruthann he enthusiastically began to resurrect this abandoned hobby. Presently, much of Ron's work on canvas is from life's early memories and local areas of interest in Sussex County. Most recently Ron gained recognition for his work with second place honors in a juried exhibit of historic Delaware along with a first place "peoples choice" award for his acrylic of the Rockford Tower. He is currently a member of the Millsboro Art League, Millsboro, Delaware and the Rehoboth Art League, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Most of his current work is hanging in these art leagues and in local businesses in Sussex County.
